Chapter 18 First request

"I want your opinion because , it's my first request, you know."
After successfully completing the adventurer registration and discovering some surprising facts, I was able to become an adventurer.
Despite taking a detour to go on a date...
The next day, I decided to try taking on a request.
However, being a complete novice adventurer, I didn't know left from right. I have some knowledge thanks to being with Sigurd and the others, but I'm completely clueless about how adventurers should conduct themselves and the effective ways to operate.
So, I decided to leave the first request to Sofia.
"Um... a slime extermination in the eastern plains?"
"Yes. It seems that slimes are appearing in large numbers in the eastern plains. The number is said to exceed a hundred."
"That's... quite something."
Even if they are the lowest-rank slimes, such a large number poses a considerable threat. It might be a challenging request.
"What's the difficulty level of this request?"
"It's E."
"It's E, huh..."
"It can be troublesome, but it's just a matter of defeating them. There are several ways to easily finish it, like setting traps or mowing them down with large-scale magic."
"I see."
"It's a good moving target, and I chose this request for that reason. It should be good practice. With this request, you should be able to acquire the basics of being an adventurer for now. Don't worry. If it comes to it, I'll handle things somehow, so fight as you see fit."
"Yeah, I'm counting on you."
"I probably won't be needed, though."
"Do you think so? I don't think that's the case."
"We'll see. Anyway, shall we go for now?"
"Understood."
As it was my first request, I headed to the eastern plains with a cheerful mood.

A large number of slimes leaped towards us.
There wasn't time to deal with them one by one, so I decided to cut them down all at once.
"Hah!"
I swung my sword from right to left, without pausing, then brought it back from left to right. I followed up by swinging diagonally downward and then bounced it vertically.
The group of slimes that had leaped at us were each bisected, turning into mere liquid.
"Phew, that went well."
"..."
"What's wrong, Sofia? You seem lost in thought."
"Well, um... What was that instantaneous four-strike just now, within a second?"
"Well, Sofia did it earlier, so I thought, can I do that too? It worked out well. It's a simple technique, isn't it?"
"That's absolutely not the case!?"
"Oops."
Suddenly, Sofia raised her voice.

So, basically, we strip the materials from monster corpses, and then burn the unnecessary parts.

Sofia gently smiled and took my hand. Her hand is very warm. That warmth seeps into my heart, making my chest warm.

It's unimaginable. But it's very exciting.
With Sofia, it feels like I can fly anywhere.
"Am I included in this too?"

Sofia shows a sublime smile like the sun.
