My childhood friend, who I promised to marry in the future, came back as a swordsman

Chapter 84 Magic(Cursed) sword

{TL: By Creed}

A Cursed Sword?

Tyrfing?

I've never heard of such a thing.

From the name, it seems like it might be similar to a holy sword.

I don't know much about it, but it's better to be cautious.

I firmly grip my sword and carefully watch the movements of Doctor.

I was keeping a close eye on him, but...

"Now, die!"

"...Huh?"

Before I knew it, Doctor was right in front of me.

He wasn't just fast; it was as if time had stopped, and he was suddenly in front of me...

I couldn't track his movements with my eyes.

A loud whoosh as the blade slashed toward me.

Blocking it... I can't!

If I try to block it, I'll be killed.

"Ugh!!!"

I quickly pulled out my backup sword, wildly and with all my might, to counterattack.

As expected, I only managed to hold him off for a moment.

The backup sword couldn't withstand the strain and broke in half.

But I successfully delayed Doctor's slash, even if just for a moment.

In that brief window, I moved my body to a safe area.

"Damn it!"

If I stay on the defensive, I won't be able to defeat Doctor.

More importantly, I have to stop his attacks.

If he keeps pressing, I'll be overwhelmed.

With that in mind, I attacked with my last backup sword.

"Divine Dragon Sword Style - First Strike..."

I put all my strength into it.

This was the most powerful technique I could muster.

"Mountain Breaker!"

I couldn't afford to worry about killing him.

If I didn't give it my all, I'd be the one getting eaten alive.

I could feel that impending sense of death.

So I went all out, but...

Clang!

Once again, the blade snapped from the base...

And then, as if it had been exposed to years of harsh weather, it crumbled to pieces.

What the heck just happened?

Before I could even comprehend, Doctor moved.

With a cold smile on his lips, he swung his cursed, jet-black sword.

The first strike—I dodged by leaning back.

The second—I bent sideways to avoid it, almost falling in the process.

But the third—I was completely off-balance, and there was no way I could dodge any further.

If this sword didn't work...!

With a near-prayer, I drew the Snow Crystal Sword and braced against Doctor's cursed blade.

It felt like I was holding back a giant boulder.

The pressure was overwhelming, and I felt like I was about to be crushed.

But I stood my ground, mustering all my strength to counter it.

"Take... this!!!"

I kicked the ground with all my might.

Then I leaned my upper body forward, pushing Doctor's sword back.

Despite the immense strain, the Snow Crystal Sword somehow held on, allowing me to barely repel Doctor's blade.

"Wow, impressive. I didn't think you'd push back against the power of a cursed sword."

"Huff, huff, huff... What is that sword, exactly?"

"Hehe, interesting, right? It's not just sharp; it grants its wielder immense power. It's the ultimate sword. Yes, this is the cursed sword!"

"Something like that exists..."

"Got it," I thought to myself, coming to terms with the situation.

Doctor was supposedly a former skilled adventurer, but he'd been retired for quite some time. Even if he'd kept up with training, it's odd for him to be this capable in battle.

If that cursed sword is giving him power, it makes sense.

But I've never heard of anything like it. Even Sofia's holy sword doesn't enhance the wielder's abilities.

"What's regrettable is that this is still not the sword's full potential," Doctor remarked.

"Even with all that power, it's not complete?" I responded.

It was terrifying, sending a shiver down my spine.

But it wasn't just that—it also sparked a feeling that I had to stop Doctor here and now, no matter what.

"Fate, just take him down already!"

Licorice's voice rang out in support. Knowing I wasn't alone, I felt a surge of determination.

"Strengthen!"

My body was enveloped in a soft glow. I felt a bit lighter, like I had more energy.

What was this?

"I've cast a spell to enhance your physical abilities! It’s not a massive power boost, but it's better than nothing, right?"

"Yeah, thanks, Licorice."

Maybe now I had a chance. I firmly gripped the Snow Crystal Sword.

"Are you ready?" Doctor asked.

He seemed eager to defeat me in top condition, intentionally waiting for me to prepare.

His grin was filled with malice.

I wouldn't lose. I couldn't let someone like him run free.

Most importantly, I had to do this for Aisha.

To set her free, I had to crush Doctor's ambitions right here and now.

"Let's do this!"

I psyched myself up and kicked off from the floor.

TL Note: Fate bounces back but the cursed sword still looks more op.

Chapter 1: The reality that I longed for is harsh and painful {TL: By Creed} "Hey, don't stroll around leisurely, you Useless man!" Insults were flying, and the target was me. "I-I'm... sorry..." My reply came out in gasps, as it should. After all, I was carrying a load that was tens of kilos heavier than my own body. In such a state, I had been walking through the dungeon for hours without a break. It was non-stop. It was only natural that I was out of breath, my clothes drenched in sweat, as if I had been doused in water. I wondered if I was experiencing dehydration; my legs were wobbly, and I felt like I might collapse if I let my guard down. "Hurry up, you slacker! You're practically useless except for carrying stuff," Sigurd, the leader of the A-rank party 'Flarebird,' berated me. He held the title of 'Swordmaster' and was the party's main attacker, constantly in action. "Sigurd, you're such a brute. Fate is so

Chapter 4 Party formation {TL: By Creed} After that, we changed locations and moved to a different inn and restaurant. Since Sigurd and the others stayed behind, I'm not sure what happened to them, but... It seems like Sigurd took an incredibly powerful blow, so he probably won't wake up for a while. "Sister, I'll have orange juice and a parfait." "..." "What about Fate?" "..." "Fate, what's wrong?" "Huh!?" When asked the question, I snapped back to reality. "Oh, um, yeah. Sorry... um, I'll have coffee, please." "Okay. Orange juice and coffee. And a parfait, right? Please wait a moment." The waitress nodded and left. Alone again, I looked at Sofia once more. "It's been a while, Fate." "...Is it really you, Sofia?" "Yes, it's me. Or does Fate see someone else when Fate looks at me?" "No, it's not like that. I would never mistake my precious

Chapter 2 childhood friend {TL: By Creed} That was ten years ago. I had a childhood friend who was the same age as me. Her name was Sofia Ascarth. Sofia and I played together every day, and we were so close that we were always together. Every day was so much fun... Filled with smiles. I believed that this happiness would last forever back then, but... Our parting came suddenly. ―――――――――― "I'm sorry... I can't meet Fate anymore." When I tried to play as usual, Sofia had a look on the verge of tears. Did she have a fight with her parents? When I asked what was going on, that was the answer. "Huh? W-what do you mean? You can't meet me anymore..." "Due to my dad's job, we're moving to the capital. So... today will be the last time I can play with Fate." "That's... " It felt like the ground beneath me crumbled and I was falling... Such a terrible shock. "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...
