My childhood friend, who I promised to marry in the future, came back as a swordsman

Chapter 101: A fierce parent-child quarrel

{TL: By Creed}

**Bang!!!** With that sound, Sofia vanished.

No, she didn't vanish. She dashed forward at a speed so fast she was almost invisible.

Her destination was...

"Haa!!!"

"Hmph!"

Sofia swung her sword at Edward with all her might. A naked blade. And not just any blade—a holy sword. Even a graze would cause a serious injury.

Edward, however, effortlessly blocked the sword saint's strike. Though one of his feet sank slightly into the dojo floor, that was all. He neither broke nor severed the sword, successfully defending himself.

"Haaaaah!!!"

Sofia launched a series of continuous strikes, swinging her sword at the speed of sound.

But that wasn't all. Right, down, up, left, diagonal down, diagonal up... she varied her sword strokes with each strike, delivering blows from every conceivable angle. Anyone else would have been shredded to pieces before realizing what happened.

But Edward was not just anyone. He was the lord of Leafland and the master of the Divine Dragon Sword Technique. With his extraordinary physical abilities, he blocked all of Sofia's attacks.

Sofia stepped back and smiled slyly.

"It's been a while since we crossed swords, but as expected of Father. Even after all those attacks, you didn't get a scratch."

"I train every day. You too, Sofia, have improved significantly. I was worried that your skills might have dulled during your travels, but that was unnecessary."

Edward also smiled slyly.

...Are these two battle maniacs? It might be rude, but I couldn't help thinking that.

"A-amazing... the young lady has gotten even stronger..."

"To think we could witness a serious duel between the young lady and the master..."

Axel, Lina, and the other disciples were astonished and mesmerized by the sudden match. They seemed entranced by the two's swords. It didn't occur to anyone to try and stop them.

"Hey, Fate. Shouldn't we stop this?"

"Do you think we can?"

"No, we can't..."

If anyone intervened, they'd likely be sliced clean through.

I believe Sofia would stop just short of hitting us, but... I don't know Edward well enough to be sure. He might just cut us down without hesitation.

"Hey, Dad."

Aisha looked up at me anxiously.

"Why is Mom fighting? Isn't that man Grandpa?"

"Um..."

This is a really tough question. Parents having a serious sword fight is extremely unusual...

"That's their way of greeting each other."

"Greeting?"

"Yes. Since they both practice swordsmanship, they check each other's well-being by sparring... something like that?"

"I see."

Though it was a weak explanation, Aisha seemed to accept it. What a relief.

But she still seemed worried about them fighting with real swords, her tail drooping lifelessly.

"Come here, Aisha."

"Okay."

Wanting to calm her down a bit, I picked Aisha up. She clung to me, seeking comfort.

"Humph."

Sofia glanced over at me with a very envious look on her face.

If you want to hold Aisha, then stop the fight right now, okay? That's what I thought, but...

"...Father, I think it's time to end this."

Instead of stopping the match, Sofia came up with the incredibly martial idea of hastening the conclusion. Why does it always come to this...?

Well, Sofia has been like this since she was young. She appears to be a gentle lady, but in reality, she has a strong will and determination. She would never abandon a match once it's started.

"Hmph. Have you become conceited after earning the title of Sword Saint? That level of swordsmanship will never reach me."

For Edward to dismiss Sofia's efforts as "that level," he must be incredibly skilled. What does Sofia plan to do now?

"That level, you say... heh."

"What's so funny?"

"It's amusing that someone of your stature would misjudge your opponent's ability."

"What?"

"...I'll get a bit more serious, okay?"

So she hasn't been going all out!?

Amidst everyone's surprise, Sofia sheathed her sword. She wasn't halting the match. Instead, she took a half-body stance with her right foot forward.

"Divine Dragon Sword Style, Fourth Strike..."

An ultra-high-speed draw. Faster than the speed of sound... no, it was a divine-speed strike.

Giin!!!

I couldn't comprehend what had happened. I didn't see anything.

When I realized it, Edward's sword was broken... and Sofia was standing behind him.

"...Lotus Blossom."

With that, it was over. As if to say so, Sofia sheathed her sword again.

"Ugh... m-marvelous."

Edward fell to his knees. Despite the pained expression on his face, he seemed to be happy about his daughter's growth.

TL Note: We now have a daughter slave with us.

Chapter 1: The reality that I longed for is harsh and painful {TL: By Creed} "Hey, don't stroll around leisurely, you Useless man!" Insults were flying, and the target was me. "I-I'm... sorry..." My reply came out in gasps, as it should. After all, I was carrying a load that was tens of kilos heavier than my own body. In such a state, I had been walking through the dungeon for hours without a break. It was non-stop. It was only natural that I was out of breath, my clothes drenched in sweat, as if I had been doused in water. I wondered if I was experiencing dehydration; my legs were wobbly, and I felt like I might collapse if I let my guard down. "Hurry up, you slacker! You're practically useless except for carrying stuff," Sigurd, the leader of the A-rank party 'Flarebird,' berated me. He held the title of 'Swordmaster' and was the party's main attacker, constantly in action. "Sigurd, you're such a brute. Fate is so

Chapter 4 Party formation {TL: By Creed} After that, we changed locations and moved to a different inn and restaurant. Since Sigurd and the others stayed behind, I'm not sure what happened to them, but... It seems like Sigurd took an incredibly powerful blow, so he probably won't wake up for a while. "Sister, I'll have orange juice and a parfait." "..." "What about Fate?" "..." "Fate, what's wrong?" "Huh!?" When asked the question, I snapped back to reality. "Oh, um, yeah. Sorry... um, I'll have coffee, please." "Okay. Orange juice and coffee. And a parfait, right? Please wait a moment." The waitress nodded and left. Alone again, I looked at Sofia once more. "It's been a while, Fate." "...Is it really you, Sofia?" "Yes, it's me. Or does Fate see someone else when Fate looks at me?" "No, it's not like that. I would never mistake my precious

Chapter 2 childhood friend {TL: By Creed} That was ten years ago. I had a childhood friend who was the same age as me. Her name was Sofia Ascarth. Sofia and I played together every day, and we were so close that we were always together. Every day was so much fun... Filled with smiles. I believed that this happiness would last forever back then, but... Our parting came suddenly. ―――――――――― "I'm sorry... I can't meet Fate anymore." When I tried to play as usual, Sofia had a look on the verge of tears. Did she have a fight with her parents? When I asked what was going on, that was the answer. "Huh? W-what do you mean? You can't meet me anymore..." "Due to my dad's job, we're moving to the capital. So... today will be the last time I can play with Fate." "That's... " It felt like the ground beneath me crumbled and I was falling... Such a terrible shock. "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...
