My childhood friend, who I promised to marry in the future, came back as a swordsman

Chapter 252: When I wake up early

{TL: By Creed}

The next day.

At last, the day to head to the beastmen’s village had arrived.

Maybe because I was a little nervous, I woke up earlier than usual.
By the clock, I probably could’ve gone back to sleep for a bit…

"Guess I’ll just get up."

If I fell back asleep and overslept, that would be a problem, so even though I was still a little sleepy, I decided to get up.

"Ah! Good morning, Daddy!"

When I went to the living room, Aisha and Snow were there.
Both of them ran up to hug me, tails wagging wildly.

"Whoa—oof!"

"Ah… Daddy, are you okay?"

"Whine…"

"Yeah, I’m fine."

I ended up falling on my butt, which made the two of them look sad.
To show it was nothing, I smiled warmly at them, and then patted their heads.

"Good morning, Aisha. Snow."

"Good morning, Daddy!"

"Woof!"

After exchanging morning greetings, I stood up.
Then I peeked into the kitchen.

"Dad and Mom… are still asleep, I guess?"

Well, it was still early, so that couldn’t be helped.

"Come to think of it, Aisha and Snow, you’re up early."

"I was taking Snow for a walk."

"Woof!"

Now that she mentioned it, Snow looked pretty happy.
I guess he was glad he got to go for a walk first thing in the morning.

"I see. That’s very good of you, Aisha."

"I’m good?"

"Yeah. You’re taking care of Snow and being kind to him. That’s a really wonderful thing."

"Ehehe, Daddy praised me!"

Aisha’s tail wagged even harder side-to-side.
The tip of her tail kept hitting Snow with little pats, but he didn’t seem to mind at all.

And then—

A very cute sound echoed in the room.
Aisha lowered her eyebrows and put her hand to her stomach.

"Ah… I’m hungry."

"Whiiine…"

Snow seemed to be hungry too, and looked at me with those big, round eyes.

"Alright then, I’ll make breakfast right away. Just hang on for a bit."

"Daddy, you can cook?"

"Yeah, no problem. I’m actually pretty confident."

Back in my slave days, I’d even been on kitchen duty.
If you messed up, you got punched, so I got pretty good at it.

"Okay then…"

I stepped into the kitchen and began preparing breakfast.

――――――――――

"Here you go."

"Waaah♪"

"Woof!"

A stack of pancakes loaded with honey, and a special salad with a hint of lemon.
Along with that, a gentle-on-the-stomach corn soup and some milk.

I think I did a pretty good job.
Proof of that was…

"Nom nom nom! Chomp!"

"Munch munch munch!"

Aisha and Snow were totally absorbed in eating their pancakes.
Their tails were wagging like they were about to fly off.

Yeah.
Looks like it turned out well.

"Good morning."

"Mornin’… yawnnn…"

Bright-eyed Sofia and still-sleepy Licorice came into the room.

"Oh? Did you make this breakfast, Fate?"

"Yeah. I’ve got portions ready for you two as well."

"…Thank you."

For some reason Sofia looked conflicted.
Maybe she doesn’t like pancakes?

"She’s just conflicted as a woman because you’re a better cook than she is."

"Ah—hey, Licorice! Don’t tell him that!"

Sofia and Licorice started chasing each other around…

"Oh! You made breakfast for us, Fate? Looks delicious."

"Thanks. Mom kind of overslept…"

"Ah—ooh…"

Dad, Mom, and Lutecia also came in.
Lutecia was staring intently at the pancakes, clearly fascinated.
She even had a little drool dripping.

That said, honey’s no good for babies.
I’d have to make hers separately.

"Good morning."

Claudia also woke up and joined us.

Everyone was here…
We chatted idly about nothing in particular, smiles spreading all around.

"…I hope days like this can go on forever."

It was that kind of peaceful morning.

TL Note: I missed the schedule as i had something to do in real life.

My childhood friend, who I promised to marry in the future, came back as a swordsman.

Chapter 1: The reality that I longed for is harsh and painful {TL: By Creed} "Hey, don't stroll around leisurely, you Useless man!" Insults were flying, and the target was me. "I-I'm... sorry..." My reply came out in gasps, as it should. After all, I was carrying a load that was tens of kilos heavier than my own body. In such a state, I had been walking through the dungeon for hours without a break. It was non-stop. It was only natural that I was out of breath, my clothes drenched in sweat, as if I had been doused in water. I wondered if I was experiencing dehydration; my legs were wobbly, and I felt like I might collapse if I let my guard down. "Hurry up, you slacker! You're practically useless except for carrying stuff," Sigurd, the leader of the A-rank party 'Flarebird,' berated me. He held the title of 'Swordmaster' and was the party's main attacker, constantly in action. "Sigurd, you're such a brute. Fate is so...

Chapter 4 Party formation {TL: By Creed} After that, we changed locations and moved to a different inn and restaurant. Since Sigurd and the others stayed behind, I'm not sure what happened to them, but... It seems like Sigurd took an incredibly powerful blow, so he probably won't wake up for a while. "Sister, I'll have orange juice and a parfait." "..." "What about Fate?" "..." "Fate, what's wrong?" "Huh!?" When asked the question, I snapped back to reality. "Oh, um, yeah. Sorry... um, I'll have coffee, please." "Okay. Orange juice and coffee. And a parfait, right? Please wait a moment." The waitress nodded and left. Alone again, I looked at Sofia once more. "It's been a while, Fate." "...Is it really you, Sofia?" "Yes, it's me. Or does Fate see someone else when Fate looks at me?" "No, it's not like that. I would never mistake my precious...

Chapter 3 Escape from the current situation and reunion {TL By: Creed} "What's going on, you incompetent fool!!!" "Guah!?" Sigurd's angry voice was hurled at me, and then I was struck again. I was thrown to the floor. This place was an inn and dining hall, so there were other customers present. However, Sigurd had a notorious reputation as a rough adventurer, and nobody wanted to get involved. Naturally, they pretended not to notice me. However... Being a slave, even if someone with good intentions were to stand up for me, they couldn't help me. How slaves were treated was entirely up to their master. There were no human rights. "You dropped the loot we worked so hard to get, didn't you? Hey, hey, hey! What the hell are you doing? How much do you think today's earnings have decreased because of you?" "I'm sorry... Ugh!?" I was kicked hard in the abdomen. It was a powerful blow that lifted me off the ground. It hurt. I cu...
